Pot's On! Puts You in a Pot and the Gameplay Somehow Makes Sense
Pot's On! opens with a wild premise that never apologizes for itself. After a party wipe at the hands of a witch you wake up in a kitchen and discover the ladle next to you can talk. More shocking still, you are now a pot. The goal is simple and delightfully absurd: climb the tower, beat the witch, and get your body back.
What turns that set dressing into a gameplay hook is how the pot becomes a battleground of its own. You do not swing swords or cast spells directly. Instead you pack your limited vessel with horns, wings, tails, and other monster ingredients, arrange them carefully, and let the machine of your build do the work.
From Talking Ladles to Tower Runs
The story beats given are tidy and focused. The witch stole your body and left you cookware. That witch also left a sliver of magical power in you as a pot, which is convenient for gameplay and mildly suspicious narratively. Your path forward is straightforward: hack your way up the tower, defeat suspiciously beautiful monster girls along the way, and ultimately confront the witch who started all of this.
There is an implied roguelite loop in these beats. Expect runs where you experiment with different item combos, swap strategies between climbs, and chase that one build that lets you steamroll higher floors.
Pack, Arrange, and Cook Your Build
Pot's On! leans into inventory strategy. You collect parts from monsters and place them in the pot's cramped space. It is not enough to acquire powerful items. Placement matters. How you arrange items inside the pot affects synergies and how reliably your setup triggers.
You can reroll the shop to hunt for pieces that fit the plan. The game offers over 100 items to mix and match, backed by eight main synergies and twelve supporting synergies. That gives you a lot of freedom to experiment, from niche combos to broad power builds.
MSG Rain and Cooldowns Become Your Best Friend
One of Pot's On!'s clever mechanical twists is MSG, a resource that physically falls onto tiles. By default one MSG drops onto a random tile every second. If an item sits on that tile when MSG lands, that item's cooldown is reduced by one second. The more or stronger synergies you complete inside your pot, the faster MSG will fall.
This creates a loop where synergy choices affect item uptime and item uptime feeds back into how effective your synergies feel. Build for interaction, not just raw stats. When your synergies line up, MSG falls faster, cooldowns shrink, and your items can start chaining without pause.
Climb the Tower and Wonder Why You're Still Magical
The combat loop is autobattler in spirit. You assemble a kit, then watch it perform as you climb floors filled with oddly enchanting, dangerous monsters. Win or lose, each run teaches something about placement, timing, and which synergies are worth chasing.
Pot's On! frames its mechanic with lighthearted weirdness and a surprising amount of tactical depth. The premise is a hook, but the heart of the game is making your cramped pot hum with perfectly arranged chaos. Why the witch left magic in you after turning you into cookware remains a question worth answering in the tower's upper halls.
