Not all threats here are environmental. The husks are the living dead of this frozen world, desperate to take the heat and life of the living. Weapons will stop them temporarily, but the narrative warns that only one thing can permanently end their misery. That ambiguity raises the stakes for exploration and discovery.
Combat looks to be tense and consequential. Every bullet counts, and engaging the wrong fight at the wrong time could cost the warmth you need to survive the next stretch.
