Kaguraden: Join Kagura, a boy of human and oni blood, on a journey to recover the lost Sealing Blade.

Kaguraden asks a simple question every time you enter a dungeon. How far will you push before you turn back? This roguelike RPG drops you into procedurally generated 3D hex-grid dungeons where elevation, positioning, and one careful decision can change the outcome of a whole run.

You play as Kagura, a one-horned boy born of both human and oni blood. After accidentally breaking the seal on his village's sacred blade, monsters and strange events spill into the world. To set things right he must head into the mountains and recover the lost Sealing Blade. What unfolds is a loop of exploration, loot, and choices that affect both his strength and the village that raised him.

Terrain Matters: Hex Grids with Elevation

Kaguraden's dungeons are not flat maps. Each floor is a 3D hex-grid with varying elevations. That simple twist changes how you approach combat and movement.

  • Higher ground offers tactical advantages.
  • Hex-based spacing alters how you close distance and avoid threats.
  • Every tile can shift the balance of an encounter, so read the terrain before committing.

The procedural design means no two runs feel the same. Terrain, enemies, and items change every time, so adapting your strategy is part of the core challenge.

Every Run Starts at Level 1, and That Is the Point

Kagura always begins a dungeon run at Level 1. Progress is earned during a single run through weapons, shields, outfits, talismans, and other items you find. The risk is real. If you die, everything from that run is lost. If you return safely to the village, you keep your haul.

This creates a satisfying tension. Do you push deeper for rarer rewards, or take what you have and bank it for upgrades? Knowing when to retreat is as valuable as masterful play.

Upgrade, Combine, and Grow Your Village

Loot is not just currency for new runs. Equipment brought back can be upgraded and combined. Weapons, shields, and outfits become stronger, and talismans add elemental properties or special effects. Mixing and matching gives you room to experiment and find setups that suit your play style.

The resources you bring home also help the village develop. Shops expand their inventories and new services appear as the settlement grows. Each successful expedition makes the next one more promising, letting you tackle heavier challenges over time.

A Story of Human and Oni Blood

Kagura's journey is not only about blades and loot. As he presses deeper into the mountains he uncovers the truth about his parents and the secret in his veins. The game frames a personal question of identity alongside its roguelike loop: at the end of this path, will Kagura be more human or more oni?

Kaguraden pairs tactical, turn based exploration with a quiet, character driven throughline. The world changes each run, but the heartbeat of the story stays close, giving reason to return to the mountain and see what comes next.
