Ghatika

A sudden, devastating explosion tears through the citadel at the heart of Ghatika and sends the city into flames. Survivors flee into the fields and forests, ragged groups searching for safety. Ghatika turns that desperate flight into a layered side-scrolling action-adventure where exploration, combat and community-building sit side by side.

The game blends tense traversal through dense jungles, boulder fields and mountain ranges with settlement management. Along the way you will fight bandits and predators, trade with wandering merchants and tribes, and follow a thread of strange events that tie back to the history of your people.

A Republic Falls

A powerful explosion rips through the capital's citadel and the republic you knew begins to collapse. As the night burns on, refugees make for the dark jungles at the heart of Minashi. A small band of survivors becomes the core of a new settlement and your task is to shepherd them to safety.

That opening disaster sets the tone. The story is one of displacement and slow rebuilding, with hints that the doom may be connected to older forces and older empires that once ruled these lands.

Secure your Settlement

The Guilds of Ghatika allowed the republic to flourish for centuries. Now those structures are gone and the refugees must improvise. Your job is to find the people who can offer skills and knowledge to grow the camp beyond a refugee encampment into a functioning haven.

Gameplay here focuses on resource gathering, unlocking technologies and organizing supply chains. Recruit specialists from among your people and from visiting traders to expand capabilities, keep supplies flowing and make the settlement resilient to raids and environmental threats.

Explore the Land

The world around your camp is older than your people. Wander through stages filled with the ruins of past empires, tribal settlements and ruthless bandit encampments. Environments are varied, from oppressive jungle to rocky boulder fields and high mountain trails.

Wildlife is part of the ecosystem and can be exploited if you are up to the challenge. But every hunt carries risk. Predators and hunters can turn the tables fast, so approach with caution and strategy.

Fight for Survival

Combat leans into action-heavy 2D mechanics. Dash, block and string combos to survive encounters with a diverse bestiary of enemies. Expect human opponents like bandits and volatile raiders, alongside dangerous fauna that will test your reflexes.

Guild Heads will accompany you in the field, each bringing unique weapons and abilities to influence fights and playstyles. Learning how to mix your companions' strengths with your own moves is key to staying alive.

Loot, Gather and Trade

Collect unique weapons and crafting materials as you explore. Loot not only fuels your personal arsenal but also strengthens the settlement. Trade with Free Traders and tribal groups to fill gaps in resources and acquire rare items.

Supply management and strategic exchange are important. The right materials can unlock technologies that improve life in camp and bolster defenses.

Intimate Community

Ghatika treats the refugee group as a living social organism. People share stories, celebrate, mourn and form growing bonds as you shepherd them through hardship. Managing morale and watching relationships evolve is part of the experience.

The community aspect is not just decorative. Happiness and cohesion affect how well people perform roles and how willing they are to follow risky plans. The settlement is fragile, and human factors matter.

Strange Beings

Supernatural occurrences thread through the game's mystery. Ancient, divine trees and spirits are rumored to inhabit the deep jungle, and their presence seems tied to the capital's doom.

Venture into those spiritual sites to learn more about the past and perhaps gain unexpected aid. The uncanny elements suggest that Ghatika's catastrophe is more than political collapse and may have roots in the land itself.
