搭搭大战(DaDa Wars): Build with One Hand, Command with the Other

DadaWars is a fantasy strategy game that leans into a simple, satisfying premise. On a fresh, procedurally generated battlefield each run you raise a camp, place buildings with one hand and personally command troops with the other. The result is a mashup of adjacency-focused city building and real-time tactical combos that rewards planning and improvisation in equal measure.

Build While You Fight

What you build and where you build it matters. Farms, lumber mills, taverns, barracks and archery ranges all interact through adjacency bonuses. Place a tavern and you get recruits. Place an archery range near the fighting ring and you buff both your ranged and melee troops. The barbecue camp periodically boosts nearby tiles. Lakeside tiles come with built-in bonuses just for being next to water.

Recruitment is part luck, part strategy. The tavern decides who you pull this run, and that choice can steer your whole approach. Between build placement and who you recruit, each playthrough develops a distinct flavor.

Every Battlefield Is Different

Maps are generated fresh every run. Forests, rivers, base locations and monster spawns move around, so the opening strategy that worked last time may not be available on the next map. The game pushes you to adapt your city layout and army composition to whatever terrain and neutral points the map provides.

Neutral buildings and resource points are scattered across the field. Some are unguarded, some are occupied by monsters. Scout guard strength and decide whether to assault or bypass. The trading post is a hotspot of contest. Whoever controls it gains an expanding resource advantage over time.

Roguelike Contracts and Progression

Contracts run across six difficulty tiers, 0 through 5. Difficulty affects more than enemy HP. It changes enemy unit caps, whether towers auto-upgrade, rally point toughness, and how many fights a contract will throw at you. Higher tiers layer in elite waves. Lower tiers include beginner protections.

Pick a contract, chart your course across a node map, and after each battle choose one of three upgrades. Upgrades can level up a unit ability, boost resource output, unlock a new recruit source, or swap in a different support package. Lose a run and you keep the DadaCoins you earned, which permanently unlock nodes on the hero ability tree. Win a run and you move on to tougher contracts.

Shape the Terrain

Abilities can alter the battlefield in meaningful ways. An ice mage drops an ice sheet on impact. Anyone crossing it falls flat. Ice melts back into water and can be re-frozen, so a knowledgeable player can repeatedly expand an ice rink to control movement. Oil slicks slow units and coat them in flammable oil. Hit oiled enemies with fire and they ignite, suffering damage over time.

These interactions make battlefield control a tactical layer of its own. You are not just throwing spells and sending units. You are sculpting terrain to amplify combos and punish overcommitments.

Everything on the Map Can Be Taken

The map contains capturable neutral structures like barracks, trading posts and mines. Some are defended, some are empty. Decide whether the reward is worth the fight. Control of resource points, especially the trading post, often dictates how quickly you can grow your camp and field stronger squads.

The game lists 22 recruitable unit types, from Militia and Hunters to Templars and Bards. Each unit brings active skills and upgrade paths. Hostile factions such as Undead, Demons and Orcs add distinct threats with their own units and abilities. A faith and doctrine system lets you bank Faith to unlock global doctrines or summon a Templar directly. As your city develops, cards unlock across early, mid and late game tiers, offering stronger draws the bigger your city becomes.

Who This Is For

If you enjoy placing buildings and watching numbers tick up without needing sky-high APM, DadaWars is tailored to you. It also suits players who like the "lost this run, coming back stronger next time" loop of roguelikes. The game rewards clever placement, smart recruit choices, and making the battlefield work for you.

About Development

DadaWars is in active development and the demo is free to download now. The developers invite players to wishlist the project where available or jump into the demo and send feedback. There is an in-game button that links directly to the feedback form, and the team says they read player submissions.

If you like your strategy equal parts city planner and battlefield commander, DadaWars is a title to keep an eye on.
