Roll & Realm Rolls a Cozy Kingdom from Six Dice

Roll & Realm is a turn-based, cozy strategy game that gives you six dice, two rerolls, and a lot of decisions. Each face represents terrain or buildings you can place - forests, mountains, rivers, farms, homes, and shops. You choose which dice to keep, which to reroll, and then decide exactly where each face lands in your growing realm.

This is a game about small choices adding up. Keep a river going to create a lake. Line up forests to birth an ancient tree. Cluster homes and shops to grow towns that unlock new combos. The dice hand is only the beginning; placement is where the real puzzle and charm live.

How It Plays

Gameplay starts simple: roll the six dice, decide which faces you want to keep, and reroll the rest. You get up to two rerolls per turn. That familiar push and pull between locking in resources and chasing a dream hand is the engine here. Go for a safe tile the realm needs, or risk it all chasing six of a kind that could help build a Wonder.

Once you commit, every die becomes a tile in your world. Placement matters. Tiles interact with their neighbors to form regions and trigger bonuses. Farms do better near water. Houses tucked into foothills might become alpine settlements. Chain placements to activate combo scores and complete objectives spread across the map.

The map itself encourages planning. You are not just optimizing a score. You are trying to shape distinct neighborhoods and connected landscapes that improve one another. A single tile often contributes to multiple scoring paths, so tension between short term gain and long term structure is constant and satisfying.

Wonders, Atlas and Blueprints

Wonders are the headline acts. These are permanent landmarks like windmills, observatories, castles, or ancient trees that require specific hands and local arrangements to create. Some Wonders ask for remarkable rolls. Others ask for careful placement and the right neighbors. Achieving one feels earned, and they become proud fixtures in your realm.

The Realm Atlas is where you inspect these Wonders and local developments. Each entry shows rotating 3D models and lists the conditions required to unlock it. If you see a Wonder you want, you can pin its blueprint directly onto your world. Blueprints track which conditions you have met and which are still missing. That makes multi-turn planning tangible - keep several blueprints in play and let the dice nudge you toward one goal or another.

Wonders and the Atlas give the game a meta-goal beyond single-turn efficiency. They encourage a slightly slower, dreamier playstyle where you scheme across turns and enjoy the moment when everything clicks.

Seasons, Saves and the Chronicle

Roll & Realm dresses its systems in gentle presentation. Seasons change as you play, cycling spring greens into summer warmth, autumn tones, and winter snow. Clouds drift, trees sway, and little sailboats cross connected waters. You can rotate the camera to find favorite views and return to finished realms in any season.

You are invited to linger. Choose shorter runs or commit to larger realms. Name and save multiple worlds, return to unfinished games, and keep completed creations to revisit later. The Realm Chronicle records your turns and scoring highlights so you can look back at how a particular placement, combo, or Wonder made a realm sing.

This focus on preservation makes the game less about chasing high scores and more about curating tiny, shareable landscapes.

Who Should Play

If you enjoy puzzle-driven citycraft with a relaxed, tactile feel, Roll & Realm will likely charm you. Fans of dice-based planning and spatial combo systems will appreciate how much strategic depth the simple act of placing a die can unlock. It is cozy without being shallow and thoughtful without demanding marathon sessions.

Roll & Realm looks like a game built for thoughtful turns, intentional planning, and the quiet satisfaction of watching a tiny world grow from a handful of dice.
