Eternal Blade - Demo Lets You Slash Into the Baransu Realm
Emerald grew up in the shadow of a curse and a missing father. Now she must gather the Almighty Gemstones, wield the Eternal Blade, and pull Sensei Lux out of the Soulless Citadel before Khaonai's darkness breaks free. Eternal Blade's free demo is out now, and the team will be at this October's Next Fest - wishlist if you want to follow the project's next steps.
This is an open-world action RPG built alongside a broader Shibui Universe - a manga, an anime screenplay, and four years of work from two creators with zero investors. The demo aims to show what that world can be: a living realm with a prophecy at the center and a traitor named Kage racing you for the same prizes.
A World Forged Across Manga and Memory
Baransu Realm feels lived in. From the Forbidden Forest where Emerald hides to Fukushū Bay's pirate-swept waters, the map is meant to hint at deeper stories. Ancient ruins, whispered histories and pockets of the Whisper of Khaonai keep the world feeling haunted and worth investigating. The game leans into its preexisting lore - weapons, materials and item systems are tied into the wider Shibui Universe rather than being generic loot.
The developers are upfront about scope and ambition. This is a universe that already has fans, and the game is one way to step into that larger tapestry.
Combat Built on Timing
Eternal Blade's fights are described as rhythmic. You strike, you defend, you read the enemy and land a perfect parry. Each successful parry feeds the Almighty Power meter - let it charge and Emerald can shift from fighting to something more intense. The demo includes the full combat system, so you can test how timing, parry windows and that transformation all feel in practice.
There is also stealth on offer, so not every approach has to be a head-on duel. That variety helps the demo show off multiple playstyles within its limited runtime.
Explore the Baransu Realm
The demo hands you four explorable regions - Forbidden Forest, Kubu Forest, Fukushū Bay and some of the extended open world - plus a main quest and side activities that should give players roughly 1 to 2 hours of play. Side systems include crafting, cooking, fishing, hunting and mining, all connected to the game's lore so that gathering feels like part of the world rather than an afterthought.
If you're the sort of player who enjoys poking at ruins, reading flavor, and letting a quiet corner of a map suggest a lost story, the demo wants you to look around.
What the Demo Delivers (and What to Expect)
- Four fully explorable regions of the Baransu Realm
- Main quest slice plus side activities - about 1 to 2 hours of gameplay
- Full combat system including the Almighty Power meter and parry mechanics
- Stealth options, crafting, cooking, fishing, hunting and mining systems
- Weapons, materials and items tied into Shibui Universe lore
This is a demo. Expect rough edges and raw charm in equal measure. The team calls it "soul" first - a playable taste of a longer tale focused on prophecy, family and a race against Kage to stop Khaonai. If you like action RPGs where a good parry feels like a conversation and the world rewards curiosity, Eternal Blade's demo is worth a look.
