Unlander
Unlander drops you into the seemingly never-ending world of the banished, where hunger, monsters and the land itself are out to kill you. What sets it apart is its core rule: almost every action is resolved with dice. Explore, eat, craft and fight by rolling your fate, then use the loot and upgrades you find to push back the nightmares.
Expect a tough, methodical survival loop. You gather resources, manage hunger and health, and craft stronger items. The twist is that progression leans on dice upgrades as much as on gear. Improve your rolls, and you improve your chances of seeing another sunrise.
Dice Decide Your Fate
Combat and interactions in Unlander are resolved through magic dice. Attacks, defenses and many in-world actions demand a roll. That makes each encounter more tactical and occasionally brutal. A single unlucky roll can turn a manageable fight into a scramble for survival, while a well-timed upgrade can let you swing the odds in your favor.
This approach reshapes standard survival expectations. Instead of pure stat grinding, you balance resources and risk - when to press on through a hungry stretch, when to eat for regeneration, and when to retreat to craft. Health regeneration works through food, so planning meals and routes matters as much as raw weapon power.
Crafting, upgrades and permadeath
Crafting is core to progression. You will find materials to build better items and to upgrade your dice. Better dice mean better chances on crucial rolls, and crafting introduces a satisfying feedback loop: explore to get parts, craft to survive, then explore further.
The game includes permanent death. When you go, you go for good, which amplifies every decision and every roll. For players who like meaningful consequences, that tension is central to the design. There is also a layer of hidden and mysterious lore inspired by old tales, waiting to be uncovered as you push deeper into the banished world.

Unlander is in private alpha version 0.1. The developer is actively revising the core game loop to make events and progression more engaging. Right now the build supports keyboard input on Windows only. The team notes that controller support and other platforms are planned for later updates.
If you want to back the project early, wish list the game on its store page and follow the developer channels. The best places to follow development are the Discord linked on the game's page and the project's YouTube channel, also linked there.
