You can level individual poker hands, so a Flush can evolve to mean something completely different from the same-ranked hand in another build. Echoes can cast your spell twice. Multipliers and boons add layers of arithmetic that reward planning and risk taking.
Beginners are not left in the deep end. The full hand ranking is one button away, and if you get stuck the game highlights the best play and can even perform the action for you. Runs save automatically so you can walk away and return to the same fight.
Four Classes That Read Hands Differently
Where Ante Inferno really opens up is in class variety. Each of the four classes treats the same ten poker hands as distinct abilities. The result is huge replay value without adding complexity to the card rules.
- Warrior. A defensive bruiser that blocks damage and hits very hard with WHIRLWIND. The Warrior wants to be in the thick of it and trade punches.
- Cleric. A sustain focused class that heals from the damage you deal and can stun with WRATH OF HEAVEN. Cleric play rewards timing and clutch heals.
- Rogue. Fast and slippery with flurries, crits, and dodges. ASSASSINATE finishes low health enemies in one clean hand.
- Mage. The top multiplier class. Mages lean into huge damage swings and echoes that make spells resolve twice.
Land a Straight Flush and each class has an over the top version like RAGNAROK or BLACK HOLE. Hit a Royal Flush and the names read like mythology: GODSLAYER, RAPTURE, PERFECT CRIME or BIG BANG. The same five cards will feel completely different depending on who is holding them.
