Skydeck Swords Turns Galleons into Giant Swords

Bring a sword to a ship fight. Skydeck Swords casts you as a space pirate commanding a growing fleet of wooden galleons, each armed with massive hull mounted swords. This roguelike deckbuilder asks you to mix and match ships, build a dynamic deck, and navigate a starry map as you try to rescue your crew and grab every bit of treasure you can carry.

Combat centers on brutal ship to ship swordplay. Fleets carve through one another with close quarters strikes, while your cards bend the battlefield around these encounters. It is a neat twist on classic deckbuilding that drags tactical positioning into the foreground.

Swords, Cards, and Positioning

Skydeck Swords makes some bold design choices. Cards have no cost and can be played at any time, which keeps fights feeling frantic and reactive. The game uses a dual deck system: one deck for winning the actual battles and a second to plan your journey across the stars. That split lets you treat combat and strategy as complementary challenges rather than identical systems.

Positioning is critical. You can manipulate where ships stand so enemies attack each other, giving you openings to build power before you strike. Add new cards, visit shops mid run, and upgrade on the fly. Everything happens while the pressure is on, so choices matter in the moment.

Build a Fleet While You Fight

Your fleet grows as you play. Capture ships, upgrade them, and trade to assemble a squadron tailored to your tactics. Each galleon brings unique tactical advantages and specialized abilities, so swapping in a vessel can change how you approach a single engagement or an entire run.

The game leans into a build while you play philosophy. Find new cards and loot in the middle of battle, then use those gains to alter future encounters in your favor. That loop rewards improvisation as much as long term planning.

A Golden Age of Space Piracy

The setting sells the hook. Massive wooden galleons traverse cosmic winds, propelled by solar sails and ancient machinery. Gold is heavy, oxygen is a luxury, and a sharp Skydeck sword is the strongest law you know. You are a pirate with nothing left to lose and a galaxy to gain, hunting elusive targets to rescue your crew and claim legendary loot.

Skydeck Swords stands out by blending close quarters naval swordplay with the card driven chaos of a deckbuilder. The result promises high stakes drama where positioning, timing, and clever fleet composition all come together to decide who survives the chase across the stars.
