Bolted packt dem Fortschritt wortwörtlich ein Abschleppseil an
Long after civilization collapsed you inherit a roofless Garage, a yard full of junk and no car to call your own. Bolted asks a simple question. Can you build something that runs, drag the parts home, and make that heap competitive on Scrap City streets? The twist is the parts are physical objects in the world. If you want better performance you have to find, recover and deliver donor components yourself.
Baue ein Auto aus echten Teilen
Bolted is not about stat cards. You start with a chassis and bolt on wheels, a seat, an engine, fuel and cooling. Everything you add changes the way the vehicle behaves. Mass, centre of gravity, wheelbase, tyres, driven wheels, suspension and cooling are all simulated so your choices matter on the road and when you are dragging a trailer through a ruined neighbourhood.
More engine buys top speed, but it also creates heat and makes your car thirstier for fuel. Heavier parts change balance and handling. Suspension, tyre grip and wheel placement influence cornering and how likely you are to end up in a ditch after a bad landing. You can use automatic or manual gearboxes and toggle optional driving aids depending on how hands-on you want to be.
Donor recoveries unlock real parts
Useful components are bolted to donor machines scattered around Scrap City. Finding a donor is the start. Getting the part home is the main event. Some donors can be nudged back to the Yard on a glorified lawnmower. Others demand a tow rig, a winch or a crane and a carefully planned route. Teamwork helps. So does a plan that avoids cliffs.
Performance parts are not sold. If you want a high-end engine or speciality suspension you must bring it home yourself. Deliveries to the Garage unlock those parts for future builds and let you iterate on your designs.
Race the result
You use the same build in street circuits, drag races and driving trials without leaving Free Roam. Events run from Yard class to Unlimited. Power to weight and tyre grip matter more than raw displacement so the biggest engine is not automatically the best option. Classified finishes unlock higher classes, but winning is optional. You can test a fragile custom contraption in a time trial or throw it in head-first in a brawl of improvised racers.
Weight shifts, tyre wear and suspension travel all affect handling in real time. That means a car tuned for towing may not be ideal for a short, brutal drag. Bolted encourages specialised builds and creative compromises.
Multiplayer, jobs and progression
Play solo or host a friends-only Free Roam for up to five drivers. Race each other, tackle tricky recoveries as a crew or turn salvage runs into cooperative hauls. Events and salvage jobs pay Scrap. Spend Scrap on Garage bays, new routes, venues and cosmetics. Scrap upgrades the operation around your builds rather than handing you instant horsepower. Faster parts still require recovery.
Key features include
- Physics-driven junk racing for one to five players
- Parts whose mass, placement and purpose affect handling
- Open world with circuits, drags, driving trials and salvage jobs
- Physical donor recoveries that unlock parts
- Vehicle-mounted winches and cranes for towing and cargo work
- Four performance classes that encourage specialised builds
- Fuel, cooling, automatic and manual gearboxes and optional driving aids
Bolted is pitched at players who like hands-on vehicle design, chaotic recoveries and the idea that every upgrade has a retrieval story. Bring the part home, bolt it on and see what the wreck actually does on the track.
